Phone Number Checker
Check a number’s length, metadata pattern and formats. Use an international number starting with +, or select the country for a national number. Everything runs in this browser.
Check one number or a list
Checked in this browser. The numbers you type are not sent anywhere or stored.
Dialing guidance
Formatting is a metadata answer. For dialing procedures, choose where your call starts and read the source-qualified country guidance.
What the result means
Possible describes a supported length. Valid describes a numbering pattern in the pinned metadata. A result does not confirm assignment, activation, reachability, safety or the identity of the person using a number.
A shared calling code can leave several country candidates. The Checker does not choose the first country in a list. A non-geographic service code is shown as a service, rather than a country.
Significant leading zeros are preserved by the library. Extensions are kept separately from the base E.164 number. Formats of invalid input are metadata renderings, not dialing instructions.
Source-listed NPA regions are available only where the retained country-qualified NANPA reference supports them. They do not locate a subscriber or device. Subnational regions elsewhere, initially assigned operators and current carriers are not supplied by this Checker.
Questions
- Why does a national number need a country?
- The same local digits can belong to different numbering plans. Choose the country the number is written for, or enter an international number beginning with +. No country is guessed from national input.
- How many numbers can I check?
- One number, or up to 100 non-empty lines in a batch. Blank lines are ignored. A list above the limit is not partially processed; remove the extra lines before checking.
- What stays private?
- Numbers are processed locally. They are not added to URLs, requests, logs, browser storage or analytics. CSV is downloaded only when you choose it; use Clear to remove the current input and results.
- Where can I find dialing instructions?
- Select an origin above to open its reviewed guidance. A resolved destination links to its country guide. Shared-code, provider and number-type qualifications still apply; a formatted number alone is not a universal procedure.
Where this comes from
Numbering-pattern metadata (2)
Pinned metadata describes number patterns and supported formats, not live service. National parsing coverage depends on the library; an unsupported selection needs international input.

Source-listed NPA region context (1)
Country-qualified NPA context is separate from metadata validation. It does not identify a subscriber’s current location or carrier. Service facts reviewed 2026-10-03.
